Expanding its smartphone portfolio in India, Nokia on Wednesday introduced two new mobile phones, E6 and X7, aimed at business executives and entertainment enthusiasts, respectively. While Nokia E6 has been priced at Rs.18,679, X7 comes with a price tag of Rs.22,829.

Both smartphones are the first handsets from the Finnish company to come with Symbian Anna, the latest update of the Symbian software user experience, with new icons and usability enhancements such as improved text input, faster browser, refreshed Ovi Maps and higher security.

With the launch of two new devices we aim to further consolidate our leadership position in the Indian smartphone market. A robust line up of exciting new smart devices and user enhancements coming in the next few quarters, we are confident of further strengthening our smartphone user base in India, Nokia India Director (Marketing) Viral Oza told journalists here.

Mr. Oza further said starting next month, Nokia will start shipping other phones like N8s, E7s, C7s and C6-01s with the new Symbian Anna software update. By the end of August 2011, existing owners of these devices can also download Symbian Anna, while over the next 12 months, Nokia plans to bring up to 10 new Symbian-based smartphones to market, he added.

Nokia is offering both the devices on an easy monthly payment scheme at zero per cent interest.
